About the Artist

Raised at her daddy’s side in the leather shop, Mercedes practically cut her teeth on the workbench. Her lifelong eagerness to learn the trade flourished into a passion to pursue creativity in her work. With a genuine talent for quality craftsmanship and unbridled dreams (that we pray she never outgrows), Mercedes is making her mark in the leather world, adding her own spin to traditional designs - and creating her own. She loves helping Justin build saddles, but is really making a name for herself braiding and working with rawhide and mohair. Mercedes works hard and is an accomplished young lady; her talents extent beyond leather crafting. She is a talented painter, is active in the Junior Ranch Rodeo Association and is a Jr. black belt in karate.
